Blood and Wine is a Toussaint invitation, a higher-vampire murder, and a sister feud. Dettlaff is the blade; Syanna and Anna Henrietta are the fork. To keep both sisters, protect Syanna at Tesham Mutna and finish the bootblack / fifth-victim thread. Skipping that thread or failing the protection gives the grief ending where Syanna dies and the duchess lives. Combining an Unseen Elder visit with an exposed Syanna can kill both sisters.
The Unseen Elder path is a lock on later sway, not a bonus dungeon you can dip into for loot. If the duchess ending is the goal, do not take that visit. Dettlaff still dies at Tesham Mutna after the sister choice; Regis remains the surviving vampire ally. This finale does not rewrite Ciri’s epilogue. Schedule it after or beside the main Path, not as a substitute for Witcher 3 endings. The bootblack thread is the fifth-victim work that makes reconcile possible; skipping it is how the grief ending happens even if you meant well.
When to start Toussaint
You can accept the invitation before Tedd Deireadh; the duchy is a separate map. Manticore diagrams and Toussaint grandmaster hunts live here, so a Signs or Alchemy Geralt who wants that school should not wait until after the White Frost if they also want to wear it for the main finale. Gwent unique faces in Beauclair are extra Collect ’Em All targets, not Ciri flags.
Songs of the Past is not this expansion. Songs is Steam 5006530, Coming soon, set in Letten, and is not part of the free Remastered upgrade. Blood and Wine remains the 2016 Toussaint expansion bundled with current Complete Edition / Remastered owners. If a search result mixes the two, the duchy board is Syanna and Dettlaff; the hub sentence about Songs is only a status line. Accept the invitation when you want Manticore or the duchy finale, not because a version page told you to wait for Remastered notes.
Dettlaff, Regis, and what not to invent
Dettlaff is the higher vampire you duel at Tesham Mutna after the sister choice. The duel happens; the sister fork is what changes the duchy’s morning after. Regis stays as the surviving vampire ally in the captured community ending notes. No health bars, bomb damage, or a hidden third sister belong in the Toussaint fork. If a number is not on the Steam DLC page or in the captured Fandom/IGN ending rows, it is not on this board.
Toussaint also holds the Manticore scavenger hunt and extra Gwent faces. Do those while you are in Beauclair rather than teleporting back after you already shipped the duchess ending and packed the save. The Order of Vitis Vinifera is a duchess reward for the reconcile path, not a Ciri flag and not a mutagen. Keep Blood and Wine on its own road: Steam 378648, 30 May 2016, bundled with current Remastered owners, sisters at Tesham Mutna. If you only came for Manticore, you still pass Dettlaff’s story to stay in the duchy long enough for the grandmaster pins; the hunt is not a separate download.

Toussaint finales do not overwrite Ciri. Start the duchy early if you want Manticore for the White Frost, because the grandmaster pins live in Beauclair, not in White Orchard.
